Mystery skeins are heavily discounted. These skeins consist of seconds due to inconsistent dye, dye breaks, breaks in the skeins or other minor defect. They also include one off during the dye recipe formulation, one of a kinds, trial colorways. They might even include perfectly good skeins, but are extras and for whatever reason, didn't get into an update sooner.
Whatever the reason, all are perfectly lovely and are waiting an opportunity to be turned into something lovely.
